Welcome to ButEvent. These terms and conditions ("Terms") outline the rules and regulations for the use of our event booking platform and services available at https://www.butevent.com ("Service", "Platform").

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing and using our Service, you accept and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to these Terms, you should not use our Service. These Terms apply to all users of the Service, including event organizers, attendees, and browsers.

2. Service Description

ButEvent is an online platform that connects event organizers with attendees in Laos. Our Service includes:

  • Event creation and management tools
  • Ticket booking and sales processing
  • Payment processing services
  • Event discovery and promotion features
  • Customer support services

3. User Accounts

3.1 Account Creation

To use certain features of our Service, you must create an account. You may create either:

  • An attendee account for booking and discovering events
  • An organizer account for creating and managing events

3.2 Account Requirements

  • You must be at least 16 years old to create an account
  • You must provide accurate and complete information
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account

3.3 Account Termination

You may terminate your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your account for violation of these Terms or for any other reason at our discretion.

4. Event Organizers

4.1 Organizer Responsibilities

As an event organizer, you are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate event information
  • Complying with all applicable laws and regulations in Laos
  • Obtaining necessary permits and licenses for your events
  • Delivering events as advertised
  • Managing attendee communications and support
  • Handling event cancellations or changes appropriately

4.2 Event Content

You warrant that your event content:

  • Is accurate and not misleading
  • Does not violate any laws or third-party rights
  • Does not contain harmful, offensive, or inappropriate material
  • Complies with Lao cultural standards and regulations

4.3 Fees and Payments

  • ButEvent charges a commission on ticket sales as specified in your organizer agreement
  • Payment processing fees may apply
  • Payouts are processed according to our payment schedule
  • We reserve the right to withhold payments for disputed or fraudulent transactions

5. Event Attendees

5.1 Ticket Purchases

  • All ticket sales are final unless otherwise specified by the event organizer
  • Tickets are non-transferable unless explicitly allowed by the organizer
  • You must comply with event terms set by organizers
  • Age restrictions and other requirements must be followed

5.2 Refunds and Cancellations

  • Refund policies are set by individual event organizers
  • ButEvent facilitates refunds but is not responsible for organizer refund decisions
  • In case of event cancellation, refunds will be processed according to the organizer's policy
  • Processing fees may not be refundable

6. Prohibited Uses

You may not use our Service to:

  • Violate any laws or regulations of Lao PDR
  • Create fraudulent or misleading events
  • Sell tickets for events you do not have authority to sell
  • Engage in any form of harassment or discrimination
  • Upload malicious software or attempt to breach our security
  • Resell tickets at inflated prices (scalping) where prohibited
  • Create events that promote illegal activities or harm

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Platform Rights

All intellectual property rights in the Platform, including software, design, trademarks, and content, are owned by ButEvent or our licensors. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works without our written permission.

7.2 User Content License

By submitting content to our Platform, you grant ButEvent a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, distribute, and display such content for the purpose of providing and promoting our Service.

7.3 Respect for Third-Party Rights

You must respect the intellectual property rights of others and may not upload content that infringes copyright, trademarks, or other proprietary rights.

8. Payment Terms

8.1 Payment Processing

  • We use third-party payment processors to handle transactions
  • You agree to provide accurate payment information
  • You authorize us to charge your payment method for applicable fees
  • We are not responsible for payment processor errors or failures

8.2 Currency and Taxes

  • All prices are displayed in Lao Kip (LAK) unless otherwise specified
  • You are responsible for any applicable taxes
  • International transaction fees may apply for foreign payment methods

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

9.1 Service Disclaimer

Our Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not warrant that:

  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • All event information is accurate or complete
  • Events will occur as scheduled
  • The Service meets your specific requirements

9.2 Limitation of Liability

ButEvent shall not be liable for:

  • Event cancellations, changes, or disappointments
  • Actions or omissions of event organizers
  • Loss of data or interruption of service
  • Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
  • Any damages exceeding the fees paid to ButEvent in the past 12 months

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold ButEvent harmless from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

  • Your use of the Service
  • Your violation of these Terms
  • Your event organization or attendance
  • Your violation of any third-party rights

11. Data Protection and Privacy

Your use of our Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. We are committed to protecting your personal data in accordance with applicable laws.

12. Force Majeure

ButEvent shall not be liable for any failure to perform due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including natural disasters, government actions, internet failures, or other force majeure events.

13. Modifications to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of material changes through:

  • Email notification to registered users
  • Prominent notice on our Platform
  • Updated "Last modified" date

Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified Terms.

14. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

14.1 Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Lao People's Democratic Republic.

14.2 Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising from these Terms or use of the Service shall be resolved through:

  1. Good faith negotiation between the parties
  2. Mediation if negotiation fails
  3. Jurisdiction of competent courts in Vientiane, Lao PDR

15. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.

16. Entire Agreement

These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and ButEvent regarding the use of our Service.
